How To Make The Most Of Your Mornings

Mornings are the perfect opportunity to start your day right. You have the ability to choose what you want to accomplish from the moment you wake up. The most positive people tend to start their mornings early to be productive and make the most of their day! I challenge you to do the same. Getting into a morning routine might be difficult at first, but after a few weeks, you will see how beneficial your mornings can truly be. As your local Hermosa Beach therapist, I want you to make the most of your mornings each and every day.

Start Early

One of the most important things to do in the morning is start early. Don’t wait until 9 am or 10 am to leave your bed! Have you tried getting up at 6 am or 7 am instead? Imagine having 2-3 more hours each morning to do something that will be good for you. By starting early, you’ll have more time to focus on your priorities, and less time to stress.

Exercise

Exercise is the perfect way to start your morning. Whether you enjoy yoga, going for a run, going to the gym, or doing some stretching in your living room, exercise will get your body going, wake your mind up, and help you feel ready for the day. Exercise is also a healthy way to decrease depression and anxiety.

Eat A Hearty Breakfast

With a busy schedule, many of us choose a coffee to go and nothing else while on our way to work. Let me tell you, this is not a great way to start the day. Set aside enough time each morning to eat a good, balanced breakfast. Choose nutrient-dense foods that will fill you until lunchtime so that you can focus on your work, your children, or any other tasks you must finish. I recommend a breakfast high in protein, fruits or vegetables, whole grains, and of course if you need a cup of coffee, have your cup of coffee!

Prioritize Your Plans For The Day

During your breakfast or commute to work, start prioritizing what you need to do. Form a mental to-do list. If you know all of the things that you must accomplish at the beginning of the day, you are far more likely to tackle them. This is a great way to organize your day before it truly starts. Organization will allow for less stressful and less anxiety-filled days.

Dress Appropriately

When getting ready for your day, dress according to the things you need to accomplish. We often feel more awake in our “work clothes” and more confident as well. In comparison, when we wear sweatpants or sweatshirts, we tend to feel more casual, maybe less awake and more tired. Dress according to your day, ready to tackle everything on your to-do list and more!

Repeat

Most importantly, find the morning routine that works best for you. Everyone should have a different routine that helps them make the most of their mornings. Once you have found what works best, repeat it! A routine doesn’t become a routine until you have repeated it every morning. This will help you establish a permanent habit of making the most of your mornings!
